Ok, it's engagement session time! Yay! I am really excited. I love engagement sessions.
I hope you are excited too but if you are like a lot of couples you don't know what to expect. You are probably a little nervous, right? Well, don't worry. I got you covered. Trust me when I tell you it's going to be FUN. Think about it this way. This is a great chance for you to escape your busy lives and just hang out for a bit and connect as a couple....while I take pictures. That's really all it is!
Ok ok... it's a little more than that but not THAT much more. I realize anytime you introduce a camera into the equation things are going to change but it's really my goal to capture you two as naturally as possible.
Below are a few simple tips that will help us have a great engagement session!
Let me know if you have any questions!
If you feel uncomfortable in your clothes you will likely look uncomfortable in your pictures. Choose something you feel amazing in but that you also feel comfortable moving around in. Wear comfortable shoes as well. We will likely be walking around a bit so we don't want those feet barking at you.
It's going to feel a little awkward at first. Most people are not professional models so having your pictures taken professionally is gonna feel funny. It's ok. It will go away and that's when the fun starts. Feel free to interact with each other. Have fun. Let your personality come through.
Let's keep the wallets, purses and cell phones in the car.
Guys, nothing in your pockets. I am happy to put your keys in my bag. We don't want to have to stop and put stuff down throughout the session.
Girls, if you are having your makeup done professionally for your wedding consider scheduling the trial run the morning of the engagement session. Also, don't forget about your nails. We will likely be shooting the rings a bit so your hands will be front and center.
Don't be afraid to be affectionate during the session. You won't be asked to do anything you are unfortable with but not every pictures needs to be you two looking at the camera smiling. Right?
